1971. François De Baschmakoff is the first freelance designer to work for Lip. Lip wanted a designer considered as the best in his category and who had never been into the watch design, in short, a fresh-look man, a pioneer. De Baschmakoff sets the tone of the great creations of the Lip brand and shows the way to all the designers who will then follow his lead : a reverse of usual practices. With this watch, De Baschmakoff chooses to remove the hands of the watch and the gymnastics of the mind to read the time. With his system the time will come directly into the mind.
